Our university is a university of four-year schooling for teachers’ training under the supervision of Sichuan Province. It is authorized to grant bachelor’s degree for 13 departments, 29 majors and 7 first-grade subjects. The campus covers an area of 1,005 mu, with a total floor space of 324,000 m2. The total value of equipment and other facilities amounts to 51,190,000 yuan RMB and the library has a collection of books over 871,000 copies. In the unibversity, there are 11,156 full-time students and 1,002 teaching and administrative staff.
It is located in Neijiang City--the east gate of Sichuan Province which lies in the Middle of Chengdu and Chongqing. The transportation is very convenient. It closes to many famous natural and historic areas such as Dujiangyan, Qingcheng Mountain, Leshan Giant Buddha, E’mei Mountain, Jiuzhaigou, Wolong Great Panda Breeding Centre, Zigong Dinosaur Museum and Bamboo Sea.
Neijiang lies in the southeast of Sichuan Province which borders on Chongqing in the east, Luzhou in the south, Zigong and Yibin in the west, Ziyang and Suining in the north, with a land area of 5,386 km² and a total population of 4.2 million. Four railways of Chengdu-Chongqing, Neijiang-Kunming, Sichuan-Hubei and Sichuan-Yunnan and four expressways of Chengdu-Chongqing, Neijiang-Yibin, Neijiang-Luzhou and Neijiang-Suining run through it, which makes it an important thoroughfare to link up Sichuan and other provinces and cities such as Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Hubei.
With the beautiful winding Tuojiang River flowing through, Neijiang has a rich history of 2000 years and is the birthplace of Changhong, teacher of Confucius, Wang Bao, a great poet of the West Han Dynasty, Dong Jun, a famous educator in Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhang Daqian, a great master of Chinese painting, and Fan Changjiang , a distinguished newsman. It is also well known for being the “homeland of painting” and the “land of culture”.
