We are seeking young Native speakers from UK, preferably, willing to join a team work to start around March 2010.
Our project is based on the idea of giving our students the possibility of chatting and experience what talking with native speakers is like. This would be of great help since our students have never had the possibility to travel abroad or practise their English with native.
It is not important to have a degree, be a teacher or have any labour experience, but it is essential to be ready to work with children and teenagers.
We are ready to exchange English teaching for Spanish Lessons.
Candidates will be asked to work with children from 3 years old and teenagers, some adults might be involved in the project. We offer our students a variety of workshops such as: Literature and story telling, reading, drama, films and songs, dictations, grammar-based activities and conversation just for fun.
And here comes, what from our point of view, it is essential:
We are Argentinian teachers who teach English as a foreign language, with our own mistakes related to the interference of our mother tongue. We work with children and teenagers who come from working class families. These families can't afford expensive schools. Sometimes they seem to be isolated from the rest of the world: they have no internet connection at home, they have never travelled abroad or even had any type of contact with people from abroad. We want to show our students and their parents there's a world beyond Argentinian borders; that there are people who care for them and their education and are ready to help them cross those barriers.
I sincerely hope this would give you a brief panorama of what our reality is. If you feel like joining us, do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you very much for showing interest in our project. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
