Experience is essential, as you will be responsible for planning all lessons yourself and will be teaching your curriculum based on the students` needs. * Classes are Monday through Friday, with SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ALWAYS OFF.

* Teaching hours are not more than 25 hours a week, with no office hours.

* No other work is allowed (no private lessons on your own time).

* Teacher will have choice of living situation-

a) FULLY FURNISHED TWO STORY HOUSE for 50,000 yen a month (teacher also pays utilities, heat, etc...). This is unbelievable in Japan, and makes your life very comfortable.

b) Apartment next to the classroom, on second floor of a hair salon for 30,000 yen a month (for those who want to save more money).

* Teacher pays 10,000 yen a month for CAR use, but is paid back 6,000 yen for gas subsidy. CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR OWN PRIVATE USE AT ALL TIMES. This will be your car. You will have to drive to company classes and off-site lessons, never more than 20 minutes away.

* Teacher gets 4 weeks vacation, prescheduled (one week in May, one week in August, and 2 weeks in December/January for Xmas break). Teacher is responsible for rescheduling any classes missed due to illness, etc...

Job perks and lifestyle information:

* Kato-shi is a small city of 40,000 people in the Kansai region. Life around Kato-shi is similar to small town life. People are friendly, your neighbors say hi. There are rice fields and beautiful green hills all around, with a beautiful park only 10 minutes away by car. The house is 2 minutes away from the classroom, and 1 minute away from a huge supermarket and drugstore (walking). The city has lots of restaurants (yaki-tori, sushi, sashimi, izakaya, chinese, yaki-niku, curry, indonesian...). Fast food includes a McDonald`s and assorted other Japanese fast food places (like Yoshinoya). 7-

11 is around the corner. It`s easy to live well and save a lot of money.

* Kato-shi is located equidistant from several very big cities. Kobe, Osaka, and Kyoto are a 1hr.20min. bus ride away and the bus station is a 10 minute walk from the house/apartment. It`s very easy to go to these cities for the day or weekend, and very economical. Buses are frequent and cheap, butyou can drive if you want to spend the money on the highways. Himeji, with the best castle in Japan is only an hour away by car (or only 30 minutes if you take the highway).

* ACT is family-run and the owners also run a hair salon, above which you will teach (and possibly live). You are always welcome to hang out there and chat with the customers.

* Kato-shi has three or four foreign teachers in the area, teaching as ALTs in the local public schools, so you can also make friends with English-speakers if you so desire.
