Culmen International, LLC an Alexandria, VA based company is looking for two instructors to teach military English, including English for radio communications to adults at the George C. Marshall Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Courses are two weeks in duration, back-to-back, beginning 10 May 2010 and may run consecutively thru 27 September 2010.
Each instructor shall conduct instruction for the two-week intensive ESP course for up to 7 contact hours a day and one office hour each day. The class size will typically range from 4 to 8 students and the expected proficiency level of the students is low-intermediate to advanced. The focus of the ESP instruction is on the familiarization and practice of terminology related to military radio communications and operational planning, pronunciation improvement and accent reduction for non face-to-face communications, and related topics.
Minimum Requirements for Qualification (this is mandated by the customer and there is no flexibility):
Language Requirement: English language proficiency equivalent to a native speaker of English.
Education Requirement: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent in teaching ESL/EFL, a foreign language, English, linguistics, education or a related field; or a degree in an unrelated field plus an ESL/EFL teaching certificate.
Professional Experience: Must have severed honorably in the U.S. military within the past 10 years, and must have at least one (1) ear in the last ten (10) years experience conducting classroom training for military professionals.
