Lighthouse International School (grades 1-12) is currently seeking native English-speaking teachers with English, Mathematics, Science and Social studies are especially desirable.
If you would like to educate young people in a Christian environment, then we want to hear from you. You will not only be paid but also render Christian service to the students in our school. Our school considers all of its teachers and staff to be missionaries, ministering to the students and to their colleagues.
1. About our school
Our school is a private Christian school , located near koyang, Korea. The cardinal goal of education at LIS is to train up students to show the glory of God. We seek to carry out all educational activities with a spirit of thankfulness to God and loving service to each other. English language is to be used for classroom instruction extensively but not exclusively.
2. Qualifications
Required
- Be a Christian who has been born again through faith in Jesus Christ.
- Hold at least a Bachelor's degree.
- Hold a teacher's certificate in secondary education.(If you have)
Duties
- Five work days weekly (Mon-Fri, from 9:00-18:00)
- 24hours teach weekly
- Provide classroom instruction and other services associated with instruction
- Consult with students and correct their behavior as needed
- Sponsor or supervise extra activities and programs
- Help develop curriculum as required
3. Remuneration & Benefits
- Monthly salary negotiable 1.8~2.5M Korean Won (may be increased based on qualifications and experience; also may be increased depending on other responsibilities taken at school.)
- Supporting Airfare(Round Ticket)
- Health insurance (50/50 split)
- National pension (refundable according to nationalities; US, Canada, etc.)(50/50 split)
*You can collect the full amount, both school's contribution and employees share
- At least 4 weeks paid vacation in a year
- Housing will be provided
4. Contract Period
One year. The contract may be extended or renewed upon evaluation.
5. Starting Date
Starting date is a March 2010.
