Teaching in England
Many international students come to England to improve and hone their language skills and thus it is the perfect place for someone interested in getting involved with ESL instruction. There are multiple outlets for teaching in England. The primary ones are looking for positions at English language schools and/or getting involved in an international organization that does two/one year exchanges.
English Language Schools
There are a number of English language schools in the UK- in fact, the number falls around 500 schools- and most are situated in the southern part of the country. These schools are generally looking for people who are either native speakers or fluent speakers of English.
To work at these schools you will have to get CELTA, TESOL, Cambridge ESOL, TEFL certified. There are multiple schools that offer certification in these areas and so if you are willing to obtain certification; you could easily begin teaching a Cambridge English course, say, or perhaps a language course in London!
International Programs
There are numerous database websites that include information about how to teach English in England and many of them provide the option of obtaining the above certification. These can be great short term opportunities to take advantage of an international scene while being able to be flexible with future career plans.

Government Programs
Depending on your country of origin there may be federal programs designed to allow you to teach abroad for a year or two on the government´s dollar. In the United States there are programs like the Peace Corp and the Fulbright Scholarship that provide individuals with the opportunity to obtain funding for their international aspirations. While these programs generally don´t base their students in the UK, it is a good idea to check and see what the options are as you may be surprised with the results.

When looking into international teaching, it is important to be thorough and to know all of the things you need to get done before you get on a plane, like apply for a visa, secure housing and fill out all the forms necessary to work in the UK.
