When a child is having problems in school, it can be stressful for the entire family. The child may feel overwhelmed and embarrassed. A good option for students who are struggling is to find a tutor. The one-on-one interaction allows the tutor to analyze, on a more personal level, what the child is struggling with.
Maybe you are wondering if your child needs more help with his schoolwork than you can give. Or maybe his teacher called you or sent a note home suggesting that it might be a good idea to get him a tutor. You have heard that tutoring can help children do much better with their schoolwork but you aren't sure exactly how it works. What is it that a tutor can do to help your child? Being a home tutor is an enjoyable experience which I would recommend to anyone who can make the grade. You are welcomed into homes as a valued guest, your knowledge is sought after and you are well-paid at the end of each lesson. Unfortunately it is not for everyone so here's a simple test to see if you have the 'right stuff' to become a tutor. Please note that a tutor does not necessarily need to be or have been a teacher.
