My students have gotten a first in a city-wide English competition and second and third in an international English competition.
As an English teacher at Konyang, Iintroduced a number of simple but useful innovations, including the English lunch table, English through Rueda, an honors program, a weekly quiz, and a tutorial program. I was the first foreign instructor in the university's history to be promoted to assistant professor. My students won college-, university- and nation-wide prizes for a project and speaking.

I was responsible for translating from German into English all public internet pages of the university's library. As part of the IT Team, I assisted in other aspects of the library's internet presence and registration of online PHDs.
Previous teaching experience includes one year as a math/science teacher at a Montessori high school in the U.S., one semester teaching Anthropology at Kellogg Community College, adult education courses in the U.S. and Germany (community projects, archaeology) and about ten years part-time tutoring children and adults in EFL (Germany and Mexico).
I am an ABD in anthropology (Southern Illinois University-Carbondale) and a doctoral candidate in anthropology/English literature/folklore/European ethnography at Goettingen University. I have a number of seasons' experience in archaeology and ethnography in the New World and Europe.
