      Qualifications:

      I have successfully completed the Bachelor of Education degree in India and have a teaching experience of thirteen years which includes eight years in India, three years in the United Kingdom and two years in Italy. I am currently designing curriculum for CBSE, ICSE and other State Boards all over India.

      Experience:

      I started my teaching practice with a year 4 class in India and taught this year group for a year and went on to teach a year 1 class for six years. This experience gave me an insight of the foundation stage and created an awareness of the importance of planning and assessment according to the needs of individual children.

      I taught in the United Kingdom in primary and middle schools as a supply teacher for a year. My experience as a supply teacher made me familiar with the statutory and non-statutory orders and recommendations of the English National Curriculum.

      As a year 5 teacher in Roxeth School UK, I have planned and taught both, the Literacy and Numeracy hour on a daily basis. Working from medium term planning to map our weekly plans and consequent preparation for daily lessons has provided me with a greater understanding of the national strategies and curriculum. In addition to this, it has led to an appreciation of how assessment and evaluation feedback into planning.

      As the Head of Department for History in Vibgyor High, India I had the opportunity to train teachers in using technology to improve teaching and learning History. It also improved my management skills as I interacted with individuals and coordinated activities in a group.

      The school where I worked in Italy helped me understand the curriculum taught in Italy, compare it to the curriculum in Indian schools and create a healthy balance to make the teaching learning process challenging for our students.

      I have been designing curriculum for about four and a half years. I have designed lessons, multimedia, worksheets, handouts and class activities to make teaching learning an enjoyable and creative process. I am currently working in TATA Interactive Systems as a Curriculum Designer for Grade 5 to Grade 10 students.

      Knowledge and Skills:

      Teaching and designing curriculum have helped me to be continually reflective of my teaching methods and approaches in order to sustain progression and development for each child relative to his or her individual ability in a variety of different contexts. Applying alternative approaches to maximise not only academic achievement but also self-awareness and independence for students with special educational needs as well as providing sufficient challenges to facilitate higher achievers has empowered me to tackle challenges.

      I am dedicated to the importance of common values of equality of opportunity, self-respect and good citizenship, which form an integral part of my practical teaching and educational philosophy.

      I have tremendously enjoyed the friendship and support of my colleagues in all the institutions I have taught and worked earlier. I have been receptive of their guidance, advice, discussion, observations and team teaching in the broader curriculum.

      It has been a pleasure to have parents actively involved in group activities and school trips on various occasions. Developing a good relationship with the parents has also helped me in setting targets for children and helping them achieve these targets at home and at school.

      I am determined to continue my quest for knowledge as a learner and a teacher and am confident that your school will provide me with a diverse and stimulating environment in which I can put my skills to best use.
