      To whom it may concern,


      As I write this letter, I ask myself some questions: What goals do my audience have? How can I support them in reaching them? How can I make my offer for it concise, engaging, and personally relevant? 

      My name is Catherine Thomson, and I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) and CELTA licensed EFL teacher. Whenever I plan lessons for students, I ask myself these same questions. Since my upbringing in the US, I have had the opportunity to live, learn, and teach in Latin America and Europe, eventually returning to the United States. With this experience in mind, I would like to expand my cultural horizons by working with companies in other parts of the world.

      Throughout my more than 2 years of experience in English teaching, I have gained valuable tools through working with a wide variety of ages, cultural groups, class sizes, and classroom environments. While the environments in which I have taught have ranged greatly, they have all called upon and cultivated a similar set of skills. 

               Firstly, quality of instruction. By planning and delivering student-centered lessons, I have received overall positive comments from students and high scores on evaluations in recent positions. Further, materials I have produced have been used to train other employees. 

                   Secondly, deepening and expanding my professional capacities. By collaborating with colleagues when lesson planning, attending workshops and taking part in student event facilitation, I have gained tools to continually improve the academic and interpersonal aspects of my lessons. 

      With this relationship between my professional development and delivery in mind, I see the following:  the growth I experience as a professional as interconnected to the growth my students experience in their language learning. In this way, I hope to continue advancing the learning of myself and my students with another company. I look forward to being in contact about such opportunities, and thank you for your consideration.
